County Report: Caucus and Forum for Lawmakers - August 2015


Call to Order/Welcome/Introductions – Doris Herringshaw, Vice President of the Wood County Board of Commissioners and caucus facilitator, called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone present. Introductions were made by everyone present.
TMACOG members who were present included:
·         Keith Earley – County Engineer, Wood County
·         Kenneth Fallows – Chair, TMACOG Water Quality Council and Representative, Lucas County


·         Joseph Fawcett – Assistant County Administrator, Wood County
·         Doris Herringshaw – Vice President of the Wood County Board of Commissioners
·         Ray Huber – County Engineer, Wood County
·         Joel Kuhlman – Commissioner, Wood County
·         Craig LaHote – Commissioner, Wood County
·         Andrew Kalmar – County Administrator, Wood County
·         Jo Ellen Regal – President of Commissioners, Ottawa County
·         James Sass – Vice President of Commissioners, Ottawa County

Topics Discussion – Topics during the caucus round table include the following.
·         What two issues are happening in your county?
·         Wood: Infrastructure funding, especially in townships after the loss of the estate tax.
·         Ottawa: Lack of skilled workforce
·         Wood: Lack of skilled workforce and lack of transit funding.
